Obituary of Patricia Ann Wilson Richardson

PATRICIA ANN WILSON RICHARDSON, 89, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children in her home, on April 21, 2024.

She was born November 22, 1934 to Robert Henry Wilson & Evelynn Breakenridge Wilson in Newark, NJ. She graduated from Grover Cleveland HS in 1952 and was married to James D. Richardson in 1956, going on to have 3 sons. In 1971 they made the big move, to enjoy warmer weather and all the south had to offer, to Hanahan, SC where they lived for over 23 years. Pat worked as a media specialist at Hanahan HS for 17 years. After raising their family and both retiring, they moved to Walterboro and stayed busy taking care of their property, starting a plant nursery and always had ongoing projects in their wood workshop.

After her husband’s death, Pat remained in Walterboro for 24 years where she enjoyed quilting, reading, doing puzzles and feeding the turkeys and birds on her 4 acres.

Patricia moved to Summerville in 2022 to be closer to family. She enjoyed her new apartment and made many good friend’s. She also enjoyed visiting her sons and their families in Georgia and Florida.

She is survived by her children; James & Gayle Richardson, Russell & Sandy Richardson, and Tom & Kathy Richardson. 8 grandchildren; Wil & Ashley, Ben & Ellen, Matthew, Brook, and Alex & Kep Dunn and also 3 very special great grandchildren; Emelia, Grace, and Levi.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, her mother and father and 3 older sisters; sisters Jean Wright, Phylis Zoeklien and Evelyn Kraus

A brief gathering to honor Pat’s mortal remains, will take place in the Columbarium at Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner S.C. at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
